GEEZ!!! vCenter is down today : now what????
Starting like a newbie in Vmware we all found know that vCenter Server provides a central platform for managing your vSphere environments which is our “Virtual Infra”, allowing us to automate plus deliver a virtual infrastructure safety also.
There we can conclude that will vCenter is a core component of the Virtual Environment…..
What goes on when vCenter is down? What goes on with HA, DRS, FT, vDS, Clone Tempate, Snapshot etc? ‘
Interesting, yeah it was very interesting for me which made me personally build this scenario in my laboratory and test it.
If vCenter becomes unavailable, I used to be not be able to make any adjustments to the cluster configuration but all of your VMs will nevertheless run and all of us you need to make any change to some VM, we have to log independently on each ESXi host is to do it from there – No not really from vCenter because it down right at this point: )
DRS (Distributed Resource scheduler) will not work, because moving the particular VMs between hosts is a vCenter function.
Hope this was informative for you ? Keep Learning….. Sharing…. Growing…..
